At Epwin Glass we assemble insulated glass units to exacting quality standards offering a comprehensive range of decorative glazing options to enhance and add character. These include colours, textures, leaded, stained, bevelled and Georgian style options.
Our skilled craftsmen recreate an original stained glass appearance using darkened lead as standard and colour-fast UV filtered colour film. We offer an attractive and comprehensive range of traditional leaded designs, suitable for windows, doors and conservatories. Designs incorporate geometrical elements, like squares and diamonds and embrace familiar period styles, such as Gothic and Queen Anne.
We supply both aged and antique lead. Lead strip is carefully and securely applied to both surfaces of the outer pan. Lead only patterns are supplied in 9mm oval lead as standard, although special width options are available on request. Each joint is carefully finished to match its surrounding lead pattern design and joints can be soldered, giving the designs a more authentic appearance.
Coloured leading (white and gold) is not recommended for external installation.
Our experienced technicians recreate the original glass appearance using darkened lead as standard and colour-fast UV filtered coloured film.
Bevel designs provide an added dimension, allowing natural light to move and sparkle, enhancing the appearance of your windows, doors and conservatory.
We offer an attractive range of quality manufactured Georgian style units, including gothic arches, sun bursts and cottage style designs, to enhance the appearance of windows, doors and conservatories. The Georgian style range is available in two broad designs, Georgian and Interbar, all assembled in-house by our skilled work force. The actual Georgian pattern is carefully drawn and laid out to ensure the alignment with adjacent windows.
The high-quality finish of our designs is achieved by using high grade aluminium, giving a solid and rigid construction. The assembled ‘grids’ are then securely fixed at the edges and centre and sit inside each sealed unit.
Georgian effect seal units are available in a range of widths, colours and profiles:
- Widths: 18mm and 25mm in all ranges (except Gold Deco)
- Colours: White, Brown, Light Oak and Woodgrain (also on white)
- Profile: Contoured aluminium with ‘anti-rattle’ centre nipple. 18mm white will be supplied as standard unless requested otherwise.
Gold Deco: An alternative all gold style available in 6mm tube Georgian styles, particularly suited for inclusion within conservatory side panels.
Interbar profiles are used to produce our high quality ‘Cottage Style’ window options. Solid ‘box’ shaped aluminium is used to construct the ‘grids’. These are then securely joined using the centre key method.
Interbars are available in two widths and two colour options:
- Widths: 11.5mm x 18mm and 9.5mm x 18mm
- Colours: Silver and White
- Profile: Anodised aluminium (11.5mm x 18mm silver anodised is supplied as standard unless requested otherwise. Note: available in square ‘grids’ only.)
Because of the uneven surface of these glasses, lead, colour films and bevels can only be applied to a select range, so please ask for details.
We also offer a bespoke service, so please speak to our designers when you’re looking to create a special individual effect.
